WW drying towel on windows...

All of my MF's seem to leave lint on windows. Even my new Eurows have started to do it, too. And the lint from Eurows looks *really* bad, cause the strands are so long. I've been searching and researching window cleaning media for most of the morning as well as last night. Everything from surgical huck towels to newspaper.

At one of the detailing etailers, I noticed that they were marketing WW drying towels as "glass cleaning" towels. I have a few old WW drying towels laying around (I hardly ever use any drying media after washing nowadays), so I pulled em out and got to work.

I haven't used all of the different types of glass media recommended, but I gotta say, it's gonna be tough to beat WW drying towels. No streaks, and most importantly, *no lint*!

I wish I could remember the Autopian's name that gave me this idea... I wrapped the WW over a squeegee blade and was able to get all the way down to the bottom of the back windshield. Great technique.. wish I could give proper credit for it...

Anyway, if you're looking for a good glass cleaning media, chances are you already have it; WW drying towels work very well.

I've never really had any lint or streaking with Vroom Oranges and Invisible Glass... hmmm.. maybe my towels just aren't worn out enough yet. I'll keep it in mind :-)

I had great luck with the orange and grey vroom towels for quite a long time. I'm sure part of the problem is my harsh washing of them, but eventually they started linting.

edgeless mf towels work great for me on windows. haven't experienced any linting with the eurow's, which by the way i need to order *hopefully they haven't gone up in price again* some more of...

I really like this:

I *hate doing windshields and especially the sloped rear window on my Mustang. This little tool works great nad I don't have a backache at the end of the day from doing windows.

I'm pretty sure that was Integritydetail. I tried that technique with a cheap squeegie I picked up at target. The rubber must have had a high spot in the middle because I have vertical streaks on my windshield every 4 inches or so.

I'll be going back to hand cleaning or maybe pick up one of those stoners reach tools or something.

FWIW I'd go with a dedicated glass towel (low nap). You can get some Viking ones at Kmart, Sears or O`Reilleys.

I've got a few 16x16WW towels but I've yet to try one. But since they are low nap I'd imagine they would work well. :cooleek:

Yup, that's who it was.

Might have to get one of those stoners reach tools as well.

i use both these and they work :bigups

i use 2 towels to clean the glass, one for the 1st pass and then the 2nd for the final pass. using one towel gets saturated too fast and will lead to streaking...

I use the dehydrator waffle weave mini's from eShine on windows. Make very quick work of window cleaning. I use it with Invisible Glass. I used to use the cheap MFs and they worked ok, but once I used the WW MFs, I couldn't go back.

Eh..all my WWMFs, including the ones for glass, eventually leave lint on my windows.

I've been doing OK with the woven style MFs for glass, but I always get the *best* results by doing my final work with Griot's polypropylene window wipes.

Ive actually had good luck with the Cobra glass towel.

Do you mean the yellow/orange one? I have a few of those and *one* doesn't lint (it's actually my glasses/lenses towel, it's *that* nice).

I use the Viking ones and they are fantastic. I *think* those might be the old version. I bought some new ones from O'Reilly auto parts and these are more yellow and seem to have more nap.

they sell these orange ones seperately, and also a 3pk that are yellow in color...

I have a mixture of Cobra and Miropack ww glass towels and never wash them with my mfs. Learned my lesson. Even high quality mfs sometimes lint. Never had any linting problems since washing separately.
