Wrong Approach

I think I have been going about this the wrong way. I was trying to apply Scratch X to an area with a few swirls on my truck. I couldn't tell that it was doing anything.. got aggrivated and quit. I was applying the Scratch X, let it set for a few seconds, and then wipe it off with a microfiber towel. Should I have continued to rub the Scratch X into the paint until it was almost gone completely before I used the towel?

I usually rub scratch X in until almost gone, then remove with a clean cloth.

Just be careful, start small with light pressure.

Scratch X is a funny product (IMHO). Sometimes it works great on getting swirls and scratches out, other times (on the same car), it does not seem to do anything to the blemish:nixweiss

You need to "work" ScratchX on a small area, it isn't a wipe-on/wipe-off product like a wax. Here is a write-up on using ScratchX by Mike Phillips:

Nice.. that helps. I'm going to retry again this weekend.

Now what about the Deep Crystal System Paint Cleaner and Deep Crystal System Polish? Are they rub on rub off.. or do I need to work though in as well?

DC Cleaner is a chemical cleaner without cutting particles. It does need enough friction to allow your applicator to rub off the contaminants the chemicals are dissolving but you don't need to "work it with passion" as with ScratchX.

DC Polish is a "pure polish" or "glaze" and is mostly adding oils to enrich the surface. Since there's no cutting or cleaning it's basically a wipe-on product.

The only Meg's products that should be allowed to dry are waxes and sealants. ScratchX, DC Cleaner, DC Polish and all their other polishes and cleaners should be removed before they dry.

PC.
