They make teflon bathroom cleaner too. That stuff sucks. We all know that teflon doesn't do anything unless it is super heated when applied. That non-stick part is important. I mean, we wouldn't want those fried eggs sticking to the hood or anything. And what exactly is un-genuine carnauba? I figure if these guys are going to call their Carnauba 'Genuine', then there must be fake carnauba waxes out there. lol

I remember asking Dwayne about Teflon in one of the Four Star Pro Products. He said it was more for application :dunno

IIRC Dupont doesn't actually sell this stuff. Another company does, but pays a licening fee to Dupont to use their names(s) on their label.

I don't have any of this line, but if you were to look at the back of the bottle, does it list another company's name as mfg, cust.service, etc.?

*edit* I did a search and found that it's Tenneco that's "partnered" with Dupont.

"Tenneco Automotive and DuPont have entered into an exclusive licensing agreement to develop, manufacture and market certain car care products under the DuPont brand in North America.

Initially, the two companies will launch a line of DuPont branded car appearance products--including waxes, protectants, car wash, and tire and wheel care products--which will be available at retailers throughout the United States and Canada. These products will feature DuPont Teflon in the North America do-it-yourself) category.

The new DuPont Car Care products line will include: DuPont Teflon Car Wash, DuPont Teflon Car Wax, DuPont Teflon Protectant, DuPont Teflon Wheel Cleaner, DuPont Teflon Spray Wax, DuPont Teflon Protectant Wipes and DuPont Teflon Tire Shine. The two companies intend to work together to develop additional car care product lines for the category, a market estimated at $775 million in North America. Specific terms of the long-term deal were not disclosed.

According to the companies, early response from customers has been overwhelmingly positive. The products will be available at more than 10,000 automotive retail outlets throughout the United States and Canada, beginning this month.

This agreement represents Tenneco's first strategic step to expand its aftermarket product offerings beyond the ride control and emission control categories. We posed several questions to the company related to this deal, but as of press time had not heard from executives. Some of the questions focused on why this move was made, specifically whether they felt the car care products segment was too crowded already. We also asked about price points and margins for the new products and what will be done to market these items to consumers. Once we get our answers, we'll let you know.

In a press release announcing the move, Mark P. Frissora, chairman and CEO of Tenneco Automotive, said he's excited to broaden beyond his company's traditional product lines. "Our innovative products, combined with the powerful DuPont and Teflon brands and Tenneco Automotive's extensive distribution network, have the opportunity to provide a high value, high performance offering in this market segment," said Frissora."

I've actually tried (and seen results on other's cars) the Teflon Tire Shine and I'd say it's as good as any other tire dressing I've seen pics of posted on this board, maybe better. I don't really believe in all the Teflon protection hype, but....... Maybe it's a testament to the rest of the line, maybe not. Just because you don't pay $16.95+ for your wax, wash, or sealant doesn't mean it won't do a good job. :dunno
