Wow, that was an emphatic response. HIV and hunger are indeed important issues. I just found this article, and thought it interesting. The Skeptical Environmentalist is not from the right, it was written by a former Sierra Club member Bjorn Lomborg. His statistics were compiled using many studies backed by environmentalists. The trouble he ran into is that many did not like his logical conclusions.

Well, if you consider that in the USA the media comes in only 2 flavors (fanatic-neocon-ultra-right and center-right) then everything else will seem "left".
