is it ok to use woolite+water to clean interior vinyl surfaces like the dash, door panels? i am going to use 303 as protectant.
 
IMHO the woolite / water is thee best thing clean with . Works great on stubborn stains , scuff marks , and grime. It'll give you a clean finish so you can apply your fav. dressing. Try some PB's NL when you get a chance..great stuff.

I use 6 parts water to 1 part Woolite, but I read that ratio on another site.

I also wipe my leather with a damp cloth after the Woolite to remove any soap residue that might be left. May not be necessary, but it doean't take that long to do.

I use it at 10:1 and haven't had problems cleaning even the dirtiest leather. When I do carpets, I use Woolite 10:1 and APC 10:1. On plastics and vinyl, I use APC but I have used Woolite and found it performs equally well. Using both products together or seperatly there really isn't a need for another interior cleaner.

What is Woolite?

Hey gents,
I have to ask, what is woolite? I keep seeing references to it on this site. Is it a brand name for some type of "wool cleaner"? Can u use any wool cleaner from the supermarket shelf to do the same thing? I think they are supposed to be a gentler, kinder (pun intended) type of cleaner. So can any brand / no-name brand be used with good results? Thanks for any response. Really like this forum & the great hints/tips you all provide too... :bigups
 
I assume from your location "downunder" that you are from Australia. Woolite is a product in the USA. It is basically a very gentle laundry detergent. Like Tide or Shout.
 
Okay, Im going try it out. I never had use any Woolite yet. So, if i have 16oz spray bottle. What are the ratio? 16-h20:2 oz woolite?

put 2 oz of woolite and fill the rest with water and you'll be close enough after the suds at the top fade..aloha

But, don't substitute just any laundry detergent for the Woolite.
The Woolite is much different than most in that it doesn't seem to dry/remove the natural oils in material. Tide or Shout would not, IMO, be a good thing for this type of use.
Chances are you can find a product in your part of the world that will be recommended for use on wool material. It might not be Woolite, but will most likely do the same job.

To add to Charles, Woolite is designed for delicates such as ladies lingerie, and clothes that are washed on gentle cycle. I used it for the first time the other day on my leather and I'm sold.



Brain-Dead.

I would go look at your local department store in the ladies lingerie section and ask the store clerk, I'd bet they have something similar to Woolite. Victoria Secret has some stuff for this ask my wife she leaves plenty of cash there.
 
would this stuff be better/safer than the magic eraser? I've used this and it did take some color out of my interior plastic pieces, but some shine cleared it right up. Would Woolite be less harsh on the interior, and clean better?

I have. It works fine for washing the MF IMO.

The Magic eraser is/can be abrasive, so I would venture to say that the water:woolite may be a little safer for interior plastics.

I use it on my interior and it looks great. My armrest had some stubborn dirt/grim that would come off. Did a 5:1 mix using woolite original took them right of the topped with 303 protectant for that beautiful matte look.
