wool & RO machine

Howdy,

Is a wool pad useful on a random orbit machine like the Porter Cable or Meg's G110? I was thinking maybe a 4 inch wool pad could be good for cleaning up deeper marring in isolated areas. Wool does seem to a weapon for rotary users.

Thanks in advance for answering my newby question.

Used to be my answer was simply "No, don't do it!", but that's changed.

You can now get 4" Edge wool pads through Cyclo Toolmakers and they can work well with M105 for aggressive correction.

Also, the 3.5 and 4" LC PFW pads work quite well with a number of aggressive products.

These will, of course, require a follow-up with a milder combo.

I think it depends on the machine. With a Flex it shouldn't be an issue. I've used a wool pad with my Rigid 2610 with good results.
