I'm currently trying out the wolgangs twins...Very nice product, easy on, easy off....reminds me of zaino....Anyways i was wondering if anybody has top it was a carnuba wax..The only thing i have is s100....I will post some pics in alittle bit..

On silver, I don't think that a wax topper will give you any advantage aside from a sacrificial layer. I would wait 24 hours and apply another layer of the sealant and be done with it. There are some pics of WG with #16 on top and they look great, but it is also a dark blue paint. There is at least one thread on this. Search for it--I'm too lazy;)

Never found a need as of yet to top WG with anything.....Its no where near the dust magnet BF is, even less so that Platinum.....Like think said, i waited till the next day and put another coat on, wallah....

I've only topped WG once (with Meguiars #16) per my customer's request. Turned out really nice!

Like Patrick said, you don't really *need* to top WG, it has a very rich look on its own. If you want to though, I'd suggest Meguiars #16 or S100 if you want the true look of WG to shine through, Souveran if you want an even richer look.

Poorboy's EX-P really adds to the already excellent results of WG without altering it basic appearance. :xyxthumbs. This way you are topping with a sealant for the enhancement you are seeking( wetness). I have done the Souveran,P21S and Meg #16 topping of WG and EX-P blows them out the water. JMPVP (Just My Personal Visual Perspective). :wavey

hi scottwax: i see from many of your previous posts that you've used both Poorboy's EX-P and Wolfgang. In your experience, is EX-P durable?

I ask because although I'm very happy with the way Wolfgang tuned out on my Silver Acura TL (http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36738), blkZ28Conv says above that EX-P will make it look even wetter, which is the look I want. I don't necessarily care about 'shine'.

I'm *very* happy with the look of Wolfgang so if you say topping with EX-P won't do much for me, I'll stick with Wolfgang then. I just want to stick with sealants for their durability but still want to get as wet a look as possible.

Thanks for any advice.

hi blkZ28Conv:

does this mean you can interchangeably top wolfgang and ex-p with each other?

Sorry for the noob question but i'm not really clear on the compatability of sealants with each other. Will sealants bond to each other, regardless of brand?

Hi maecrispy,

We are all searching for the look that pleases our visual ideals of a vehicles appearance. That why many of us own almost every elite or not product out there. That is why detailing as a hobby is so much fun. The ultimate appearance is always just beyond the horizon.

I just used EX-P as a topper of one of my WG'd vehicle (black Z28) and loved the results. I will not alternate between the 2 products but when I do need to re-prep I will do my polish/AIO/WG x 2-3 and top with EX-P.

Does the EX-P and WG actually cross-link or just held together by Van DerWaal forces (glue-like)? :nixweiss

Is there a increase or deterioration in the durability scope of things? :nixweiss No concern to me because of my frequency of detailing my vehicles and garage protection.

Do I recommend WG with a EX-P topper. Absolutely!!!!

Because a product is being topped by another does not necessarily mean the topped product has any short-comings. In this case WG produces excellent results. But like all products the fulfillment of "all" desire visual feature of a finish is hard to find in one bottle or can. :wavey

Doesn't EX-P have some limited cleaning capability so it can bond correctly to a finish?

Poorboy EX-P is a pure protectant by my understanding. The instruction state that finish should be clean and prep prior to application. The packaging also states product is intended for new or flawless finishes. I read that as meaning Prepped.

Like Z2, Z5, WG, and SG sealants, the cleaning and polishing should be done prior to application with their matched product (Z1, AIO, WG polish, SSR1, or similiar products for this function). :wavey

Thanks for the excellent reply! I love this forum!:D

I think based on your response, I'll go ahead and try it. Trying all these things out is so addicitive. :)

I'm going to pass this on to my buddy as well as he has a black Civic we might start experimenting on.
