Wolfgang Revisited - Silver 4Runner (LOTS of pictures)

This car belongs to a friend of mine. Her mom asked me to detail it, and soon I'll be detailing the mom's BMW X5.

The weather wasn't good this morning...rained while I did the interior and while I washed it...so I didn't get any before pictures of the exterior. The paint was completely flat; no beading, no slickness, low gloss. The interior was moderately soiled/dirty.

Interior Process:

Vacuum thoroughly

Simple Green 8:1 to presoak mats - then washed with hose and extracted with shop vac (cleaned up some but still need some work)

Simple Green 8:1 and Meguiar's Interior Quick Detailer on dash, plastics, etc.

Aww how cute, u even straighted up the bow. One thing Id suggest is for a final vacum on carpet is to go in one direction. In your 2nd picture it looks like the carpet was sectioned off and every other one was cleaned. Im sure it is clean, but the appearance is decieving. Do you like the MQID? Its my new go to protectant for interior surfaces.

Yeah, I got fancy with the lines, but the driver's mat was in bad shape. The stains wouldn't budge = not the best picture.

I've been getting to use the Interior QD quite a bit lately, and I really like it. I plan to do a review sometime.

Try pretreating the carpets with Folex for better stain lifting action :).

I'll have to try that.

I had some 303 Carpet Cleaner (which works very well for me), but I didn't use it. It was one of those occassions where I did what I was paid to do...only $125 for the whole detail. I wish I could have spent some more time on those mats, but what do you do? :nixweiss

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

Not sure what you mean

Are you talking about the Limited badge on the back?

Yeah, the Limited badge, it looks like an SR5 to me, and the V6 badge looks like it's from a Highlander? Oh well...

Oh yeah, how do you get those neat patterns on the rear cargo mat? I've been trying to do that, but they never come out that nice looking.

I'm not really sure which model it is...I sure didn't think it was a Limited with the cloth, etc. but didn't know for sure.

On the rear mat, I just used the carpet attachment on my shop vac (it helps to brush the carpet) and vacuumed until I got the design I was looking for. It generally helps if the carpet is damp, but the back mat was completley dry.
