Wolfgang+OCW @6 months and change--impressive

GOT PREP?
Hi all--I did a maintenance detail for a customer over the weekend and I thought this was interesting....

On April the 22nd I applied two thin coats of Wolfgang deep gloss sealant, then finished off with an application of OCW. You read the original thread here:

The owner has been washing it correctly and just wanted it touched up. The paint looked great and was still very slick. It didn't bead water when flooded, but sheeted *very* well.

Anyways....6 months and change, daily driver, outside all day, garaged at night, bi-weekly washes, no QD's, no spray waxes.

Just thought you guys might find this interesting....

The polymers still work beautifully and break up the water film nicely. For me this behavior is far better than beading, with permanent water spotting and long drying times.

Based on personal experience, I think credit has to be given to OCW. I didn't find the (original) Wolfgang products strong in the durability category. I have both OCW and the Aquagloss equivalent. The AW product has amazing durability...can make one lazy ;). I think the OCW looks better, at least on dk colors.

Nice pictures, thx for sharing.

Pretty impressive! I always got decent durability out of Wolfgang (4 months or so) and 3-4 out of OCW. Of course, those were single applications. Still not sure if multiple applications on the same day appreciably improve durability. In any event, 6 months is pretty damn good!

I was surprised as well guys--I typically see about 3-4 months from Wolfgang (insert typical variables) and about 2-3 months from OCW. I have no idea why it held up so well here, but it did. :D

Tom, yep about 35% with a 20% strip on the top. They aren't too strict here on tint. Nothing I would do, but.........

i use WG on my camaro, it is garaged and doesnt get very dirty,

but during the summer, i had WG on it every 3-4 weeks, for a couple months and then i used some VM and WG again and the paint is slick as a button and deeeeeeeep,

i like the OCW, easy to use, but i wish it wouldn't streak in cooler temps,

i love the WG, the slickness and depth is good enough for multiple coats in a period of time,

PC and a gray finishing pad makes applying wg a breeze,

thanks for the pics, you did an awesome job bringing the truck back to life,

note:

do you know what the customer was using to wash ?? soap wise ??

I do not know--originally he was a local supplier's wash and wax(which is pretty bad stuff), but he switched to GC. I am not sure what he used throughout the duration of the 6 months though....
