Thoughts. I love BFMS and just bought SSII and also think its great.
On a properly prepped surface what can I gain from Fuzion that BFMS and SSII cant do?

another LSP:wall

Personally I never really liked Fuzion! I much rather SSII or BFMS. Fuzion gives a bit of a plastic look that I really don't care for.

Fuzion topped with Sig II or Savueran is my go to finishing for any big detail. I love Fuzion but only topped with something because the Doc is right it looks kinda plasticy but OMG does it stay on a car for a long time.

Doc and Joe, Thanks. Ill stick to my BFMS & SSII for Nuba needs. I read some various reviews on the plastic look, and also read some amazing reviews. I just would hate to top something on top of such a expensive wax.

Fuzion is very WET looking. I personally don't believe that it looks plasticy (although I could see that argument). To me it looks extremely wet while still maintaining that carnauba depth.

I have and use Fuzion as a special summer wax.

Before I used BFMS, Fuzion was my favorite premium wax. BFMS looks a little bit better and is ever so slightly easier to use.

But the one thing I really like about Fuzion is that it has some Anti-Static properties and repels dust better than BFMS.

I do not think Fuzion affects the optical properties of the paint like BFMS. I see a definite darkening effect with BFMS (usually like this on dark colors) while Fuzion is more neutral.

I use to think Fuzion was the best..I had 2 small jars and a full size. Until I started using other waxes. For teh price the Full size Fuzion is not worth it at all. I started using BFMS and I swear its basically Fuzion. it looks just as good on off is easy and I have never tested MS durability but the Fuzion Durability i find it to be pretty weak as in about a month. used Fuzion on my GF new car that sits outside 24/7 and it was gone within a month. Waxes I would choose over Fuzion are BFMS, BFWD, Zymol Glasur. Glasur is my new favorite wax. it is easy to use as Fuzion cost alot less. Durability is a long time some say as much as collinite 845 I put some on my GF car 2months ago and still beading very well. The self cleaning and dust repellant blows away anything else I have used. Personally to me Fuzion is over hype and WAY over priced for what it is. If you want Fuzion but dont wanna pay the price just get BFMS its the same thing really.

I think what is great about waxing is that it really comes down to personal preference. I used Glasur (and posted a review about it years ago on a different forum) and thought it was one of the most difficult to use, streak-prone, and short lived waxes I had ever used. Some times certain paints will just re-act differently to different products.

This isn't to say your opinion or experience is wrong, it obviously isn't, but its just different from my opinions and experiences.

Another thing to consider is that a carnauba wax that is exposed to frequent temperature variations and the environment will not last 6 months. There has to be additional products added into the mix that give the product the ability to sheet or bead water for that long of time. These products, usually a type of silicone, may keep the water beading long after all of the protective ingredients in the product have gone away. Marketing and hyperbole aside, no 'pure' carnauba wax will last 6 months from my understanding.

Pinnacle Souveran, which still remains one of my favorite car waxes, has been criticized for having short durability. While I wouldn't disagree, the life cycle of this wax is about as good as you are going to get in a premium wax that doesn't have polymers (synthetic ingredients), resins, or silicones added into the formula.

Both Wolfgang Fuzion and BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun use polymers (very different polymers) as well a similar type (but different amount) of refined Ivory carnauba wax. They are very different formulas that have (like most premium waxes) some similarities. I prefer Midnight Sun, but many prefer Fuzion. No right or wrong answer!

As long we are all happy with what we are applying, then go on all of us! :bigups

Very well said Todd! I have over 100 waxes and what it boils down to is PERSONAL PREFERENCE. Just because brand X is my favorite doesn't make it the right wax for your needs or likes, it is what works for YOU!! I always try to tell or explain to people when a wax thread comes up that I am giving a personal opinion.

Variety is the spice of life and it is certainly fun trying different waxes out!
