Wiping off SMR power with MicroFiber scratches!?!

I just got my PC and used the 3M RC to get the crud off the paint. Really worked great. Then I went to the SMR - WOW! The paint was beautiful - First time doing any of this.

But when I wipe off the SMR powder to inspect the paint it appears to be leaving straight marks. They look like scratches. I always wash the towels. What I am doing wrong???:nixweiss

Thanks!

Check you towels....You may want to perform a CD test with your MF's....Wipe/rub your MF against the grain of a AOL type CD and see if it scratches it.....If it does, theres your answer, you need different MF's....

Also try cotton towels and see if you get the same results on your paint surface......

Another aspect may be the SMR is removing everything but the existing deeper scratches, leaving those more revealing.....

Maybe try keeping the corners and edges of the towels off the paint. Often MFs are heat fused on the corners so that part can scratch sometimes. I know it happened to one guy I spoke with...
