Winters ending, Spring is approaching... How are you going to capitalize?!?!

Here it comes!

Finally, the weather is above freezing, the snow is starting to melt, and people are actually able to stand outside long enough to remember what color their car is...

With all of the crazy weather, and the TONS of road salt on the cars here in Jersey, I'm hoping to use that to my advantage and gain a bunch of new customers in the next month.

I'm seeing people voicing frustration on the condition of their cars, and I'm hoping that I can turn that anger into a chance to let me make their car beautiful again... If I do this right, the happiness and joy they'll get out of having a pristine car again after enduring the months of cold, crappy weather will help me keep them...

With that said, I'm expecting the worst. If people haven't been outside long enough to even look at their car, chances are the inside is just as bad. Which is great. The dirtier the car, the more dramatic my transformation of it.

So...

with that said, Who's got advertising ideas? Flyer placements, spreading word of mouth, etc...

How do I get in on the 'holy crap, it's warm out - I wish my car was clean!' frame of mind?

Make sure your car is looking pristine, then drive it around some ritzy neighborhoods with a sign that says "Do you want your car to look this good? Then call xxx-xxxx". :getdown

I don't know if you detail full time, but if you have another job...Make sure your car is perfectly clean and park it near the employee entrance to the building. Your car will stick out like a sore thumb in all the salt covered vehicles. Spend a couple bucks and get a nice small decal put on one of your windows with your detailing business info and you're set to go. Good luck!

I am so buried right now with work after a wetter and colder than usual January and February, I am not thinking of doing any type of marketing. ;)

Why not start with sending out postcards to your regulars, reminding them of the toll winter takes on their car's finish?

My schedule stays full year round with my weekly and biweekly customers but I am sure looking forward to the warmer weather. I should be able to squeeze an extra car in here and there with the improved cleaning times. I move a little faster when it's not so darn cold plus the drying time improves so much.
