Here we are with no electricity. Running generator that just ran out of gas. !@#$%^&*(). Lots of power outages around here on all power suppliers lines. Ive got one tractor and loader here and have it plugged in to warm engine. I forgot the starting fluid at dads last night when I went up and got it. So Ive got to letr the engine heater work off of the generator. Somewhere around afoot of snow with more to come. Some highways are closed. County crews are just going out according to local radio.

Around here usually the telephone is the last to go out (on even with no power) so it is possible to connect via modem with a laptop and no power.

I hope you are able to find some gas soon. You can get into the business of selling whole house generators after this storm. They cost a lot to run, but don't run out of gas.
Always had internet. Im on dialup and all rural phone lines are underground. Laptop computer too, and thats about all the entertainment I had till power came back on around noon. Folks wont have water for a couple days doto power pole broken down by the well. Ice on lines somewhere around 3 inches across so lots of weight on those lines and poles. Got stuck twice yesterday, once turning around on what I thought was a driveway OOPS! and the other trying to blaze trail to well, poor eye sight and snow depth judgement. Tractor was sitting on top of 3 feet of snow when I couldnt go any further. Imnot about to log into DC after noon at all any more, all other sites Imable to veiw. Id better get going, got to feed the cows a few bales again today.
Had 10 gallon gas here, thought I had 15. The 300 gallon gas barrel should have at least 100 gallon left in it yet. Ive got around 200 gallon of diesel on the barrels to but they run on electricity so the generator had to be running to pump diesel. The gas is gravity flow. The tractor has been my transportation for acoupled days, its got a cab but very breezy and not heated. 40 year old 856 with Diamond cab.
