Winter troubles....

Detail time!
Here's my rant for the week. Last night I was driving to work and the roads were just a little damp from eariler snow but were completly cvered with salt. The truck hasnt been washed in like 2 weeks so I wasn't too angry about that fact. Then I saw the salting truck come flying down the road and I got peppered with salt, sand and rock. I caught 3 rocks on the windshield and a dozen or so on the hood. So when I got home I washed it and sure enough there are 9 or 10 chips down to the primer on the hood and 3 good chips in the windshield. I'm not so happy right now, but I think you would feel the same if you were in my shoes. I was going about 40 one way and he was probably doing atleast that the other way so the combined speed of the rocks destroyed the truck.
This is the same truck that got the fender damage last June. They replaced and repainted the fender and the door. So now I have to go back to the body shop and get even more work done to it. Thankfully the town (it was a town truck) is going to take the bill.

I would get some pics but its under about 6 inches of snow right now....

Thanks for listening....

Sorry to hear that ... I can feel your pain. I haven't owned a car that hasn't had at least one windshield replaced because of the "anti-skid" materials they put on the roads.

What gets me is that they didn't even need to be salting/sanding the road at the time. I am thankful that they are going to cover the cost, but its just agrivating that this happens.

Last year when I still had my Grand Am I went thru 2 windshields in a month. State Farm didn't even blink, just paid for them.
