Winter Tires

Im in the market for winter tires (i love ina city that gets to much snow :santa1 ) and I know nothing about tires. My logic was this forum has somthing to do with cars so maybe someone could help me out please. I dont mind spending a few hundred on tires but really dont want to spend like 1g a tire. I was wondering if you had any suggetions. There for a 06 nissan Altima 3.5SE that has 17 inch tires on it
Thnkx for any info

I have Dunlop M3 snow tires and love them they are H rated witch is good for a snow tire the only other tire that was rated better was the Bliztrac but I had a set of them and they only lasted 2 winters the rubber was very soft due to the fact they were Ice and Snow tires but the gripped the road like the pavement was dry so my advice is the dunlop M3's

I'm either going with Dunlop Wintersport M3s in either 205/55R16s or 205/60R16s on my 2006 6spd Accord (stock wheel is 215/50R17). Tirerack has them listed as one of the top winter tires, and they are used by Porsche and other high end companies so thats good enough for me.

Price isn't all that bad either (even for us here in Canada)...for a set of 4 tires (either size listed above) mounted and balanced on steel rims is around 1000 CDN + taxes...but if they last a few winters then its worth it in my books.

on my 03 accord i have the X-Ices :D I am very happy with them, but sometimes when you drive through water, the tires sound like a jet is taking off... thats the only thing I don't like!

Michelin x-ice. Folks have 235/55r17 on their lincoln town car. purchased from the tire rack. They will only sell complete sets of four. I put 2 on the rear last year for them and nox all 4 are on due to the other tires getting worn down. RANDAL

Canadian Tire Nordics! That's what I have and I'm VERY happy with them! The price, well, no one can beat that and they are made by Good Year.

Michelin X ice or Bridgestone blizzaks ws-50(More than the X ices but a great tire). Make sure you get a narrower size tire with more sidewall than your regular tires.
Any winter tire is better than all seasons.
