winter protection...thinking outside the box

We keep looking for the ultimate protection, and in course, the ultimate winter protection.

Here's a big maybe...

What if, for example, I applied multiple layers of KSG, but left the final layers' residue on the paint without buffing off. Wouldt this offer more protection then removing the leftover wax?

We all know how much of a bear it is to remove dried wax on paint, espeically if its dried for a couple days. IS this then the ultimate way to protect your paint in the winter? I know it would look horrible, but wouldn't this protect even better in a climate where its in the freezing temps constantly and you can't wash your car?

Thoughts?

Just think about it...when you remove the ice, you'd be scraping it of wax residue, instead of off the paint...knowhatimean?

hmm but how are ever going to get the wax off the car when you don't need that much protection anymore, once the wax is all hardend won't it be too hard to get it off later on?

If you have some dough, why not just 3M clear bra the whole car if you are looking for ultimate protection? I don't see why isn't that possible, but again it would be quiet costly.

this is possible. it has been tested in a michigan winter on single stage paint mind you. wax residue was left on the car to dry and not removed until the spring. the car must be washed before removing the wax.

Carl, Im not sure how hard it will be to remove. But I honestly can't see a little elbow grease and some IPA not doing the trick. I've looked at the 3M, and it's good idea, but youre right, it is expensive.

Beachcities...did it work well?

I have serious doubts that there would be enough "added protection" to do any real good. I'd think you'd be better off just putting plenty of sacrificial layers of a good 'nuba, like 845, or just more SG for that matter.

If you do decide to leave something on like you described, you could always get it off with a good spring polishing.

I left some KSG on my wheels and let it bake on and washed them a week later and it all came off

The protection was higher but not that much more.

The best thing I've done is let every coat of sealant (any brand) sit on the paint overnight (10 to 12 hours) and then remove and let sit for 24 and repeat same process

This gives me a year of protection and guarantee's maximum bonding and curing.
