2005 Buick LaCross CXL Winter Prep (it's hard to believe it's that time again :hairpull)



My neighbor (mgm121499) and I detailed my wife’s car over the weekend.

We spent 8 hour on the exterior.



Process Used:



Wash

Z7

A2Z on the wheels & wells



Polish

Presta 2000 & 1500 @ 1500-1700 using a black LC CCS finishing pad

FPII by PC @ 5 using a white LC flat polishing pad

ISO Wipe down x 3. Menzerna residue is a %^&$% to remove!



Dressing

Z16 on the tires

Poorboys NL on the wells



Protection

Z5P zfx’d x 2 (paint, glass, trim, wheels and lights)

Z6 QD

ZCS (applied to everything but the tires)

Z8

Looks great man.



Just a suggestion if you will, try using the cheap foam tire dressing on the wheel wells instead of the more expensive PBs NL. A can lasts me a long time, just food for thought.



How do you like the presta polishes? Do they dust much? Can you compare them to Menzera SIP or 106FF?
 
My initial impressions of Presta are very positive. It lays down a killer gloss, cleans up defects well, and finishes down as good as anything I've ever used.
 
Probably the shiniest Lacrosse...ever! Beautiful. :)



How is that black to maintain? My only experience with Lacrosse paint has been the light blue color, and it's hard enough that the car hasn't been polished at all since new (Jan. 2006) and it still really only has really light marring.

GBG, You guys did some great work on that paint again. A very nice deep gloss.
