Windshield wipers?

Ive seen a few threads on these but I wanted to start a new one. I saw some Rain-X latitudes on tv the other day and was thinking about giving them a try but they cost to much. Ive been using the Bosch Micro Edges for around a year now and they are already starting to skip and such. At $12 a piece, they are not worth it IMHO.

Anyway, the regular rain-x wiper blades are only $8 a piece which isnt that bad. The Latitudes are $18 a piece which is alittle outta my price range for a wiper blade. Has anyone tried these things yet? Ive heard that the Bosch Icons are a disappointment and they are similar to these..

What seems to be everyone favorite blades?

Hmm, Ive read that oem blade replacements are most often the best choice and best value. I have a set on my car right now that are on their 2nd year believe it or not lol, they were from target but have seemed to disapear(I kept them up by cleaning w/ alcohol and applying vlrp). But Id say go with oem, Im replacing mine very soon here as soon as I can drive to the acura dealership.

Get the cheapest ones that you can find and replace on regular intervals, they all wear and peform the same in my experience, some of these so called hi-tech teflon blades you need a mortage to buy them !

Yup OEM wipers are probably your best bet for performance. Unfortunately, for me, Ford charges $20 per wiper for my truck.

I've been using the regular frame style Michelin wipers for some time now and they do well. I get maybe 4 months of use out of them before they dry up.

I usually buy OEM inserts, they are lot cheaper then wipers....about 7$ a pair.

Bosch Icon's are the only blade I will ever use. Not only did I experience superior cleaning power, but they last longer, and are all weather.

If you want to try the Lattitudes you can get the Valeos which are exactly the same at The Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels . Its buy one get one free there and so you pay $19.99 for a pair.

This is what I have right now and I'm quite happy with them.

To the OP, it seems a little silly to say you're having issues with any blades after "only a year." That's pretty good life for any wipers. I had a pair of Microedge and they performed very well for me, especially combined with Aquapel on the windshield.

Thanks everyone.. I guess a year is good for a wiper blade. Suppose Im better off buying a cheaper blade that will last a year rather than spending more on the Bosch wipers that also last a year. :hmph:

Rain-X blades from walmart it is! :)

Previously on my Mazda3, I was running the Bosch Icon blades. After a few months, I just didn't care for them. I didn't feel that they were worth the premium price. So, I decided to try the "standard" Rain-X blades. I like them much better than the Icons. Plus, for the money I can replace them twice for the same amount I spent on the Icons. My vote goes to the standard Rain-X blades.

FYI, I've not tried the new style Rain-X blades.

If you want a nice blade, try SilBlade. They are made on silicon and carry a 5 year warranty. They are extremely nice. ~$50.

I've had a set for 2 years and they work like new.
