Will these products work together?

I'm trying to learn, but am still confused! :wall Some products don't work with others, etc.... what's a noob to do? :faint:

Anyway, here's what I was planning to use:

Mother's clay

Griot's Machine polish #3

3M Professional Imperial Hand Glaze (can this go on with a PC?)

Collinite 476s (haven't purchased yet, but looking for longevity)

Will this combination work? Should I add/delete any steps? Should I topcoat the 476s? I also have these products in my arsenal (if they would help):

- Meguiars Cleaner wax (love this stuff for its cleaning capabilities, but not as a wax)

- Meguiars #26 (looks good, seems to have a "soft" deep look on my car, but only lasts a week or two)

- 3M Perfect-It Liquid Wax (seems to last longer than #26, but not as "deep")

Or should I scrap what I have and start over with something else (CG, PB's, etc)? (would prefer not to have to go this route!)

A ton of questions I know... Thanks!

Yes, this will work beautifully on your car. Just apply the 3M thin and wipe off before it dries. It can be tough to work with. If hard to use, you can substitute any other glaze you want (except Meguiars #7 - hard to use for a beginer in my opinion).

In my conversation with Collinite representatives, they highly recommend 3M Imperial Hand Glaze with their products if you want to use a glaze.

If the Griots is not strong enough for you, you can try the PB line. The SSR 2.5 does a great job to tackle swirls and finishes out real nice ready for a glaze.

Remember, the key to a great detail is the prep (polishing of the paint). The waxes, glazes and sealants are all secondary to getting your paint clean and as swirl free as possible.

Yeah, exactly what Spilchy said- your proposed combo will work fine. That Machine Polish #3 is *very* mild, so don't expect much correction from it. The IHG is nonabrasive, it's just "makeup for cars". The Collinite probably won't look as good to you as the #26 but it'll last a lot longer.
