Will dried polish look like faded paint?

Been having this problem on a car I am working on. After I polish it appears like there are faded portions after I wipe the polish off. I thought it was burnt paint at first then realized, how can I burn paint with a White Pad and Megs 80? Plus it disappears if I go over it again with something like XMT 360, but I am continually having this problem. Any ideas?

I'm sorry, that sounds like it might be clearcoat failure. If you put something oily on it it will make the haze "transparent" for a bit. Pics?

No, it actually makes it disappear. Going at it with a clay bar will as well.



Plus, I'd be hard pressed to do damage with that combo.
