Why use eraser over IPA

Pretty simple. I want to know what about the eraser makes it better than a proper mix of IPA.

Thanks for the education.

I don't know that Eraser is better. But I choose to use it because it is less grabby when wiping down a car compared to IPA, and as a CarPro user they suggest it so it's what I use.

If I was to use Gtechniq I think I would choose to use their panel wipe.

If I'm not mistaken, (I may be due to age) Corey said that eraser removed polishing oils etc, but not sealants and some waxes

It has a lubricant that should help prevent towel marring, particularly on very soft paints.

^What they said... IPA is very grabby. Eraser feels less grabby and therefore gives me more confidence that I will not be harming the paint that I just spent many hours correcting.

I would suggest to get a sample. I think you will like it but some may prefer IPA due to the cost.

My understanding is that Eraser contains a decent concentration of a surfactant, so it may be more effective at removing oils than IPA alone.

What is considered the correct mixture of IPA and distilled water?

I think there's an established theory that 15% is the correct amount, but I've found that 15% IPA (91% concentration) will not adequately remove most polishing oils. I use 50%.

wonder if you could use IPA with a waterless wash that would add lube but nothing that would be left on the surface after? I Just use eraser if I am going to bother with a panel wipe. Most times unless I polish I just add wax or sealant over the old wax or sealant.

I have used IPA mixed w/ Meg's D114. Worked pretty good IMO. I still feel more comfortable with Panel Wipe when it comes to removing residues though.
