Why Have A Polymer/Sealant Under Wax?

Still confused about this. Is this a typical process or are just a few people doing it. Wax lasts about 4-6 weeks, might give a warmer look to the paint. So why have the polymer underneath?

because the polymer lasts for months not weeks. It is nice to know that you have a nice sealant protecting the car, and a layer of wax to add the depth that the sealants seem to lack

I find the sealant tends to give a shine then wax over the top gives the gloss/wet look!

I use sealants for durability mainly. My requirements was one that was a very clear undistorted look, good durability, and could bond to a glaze.

I used VM as my glaze and topped with EX-P. The EX-P having such a clear look tends to take on the characteristics of whatever is under it. Plus, it bonds to the VM where other sealants wont. I consider it my invisible shield. I plan to top this with carnauba moose. This should provide the look of the moose twins, while providing extra durability. In the meantime I may throw a second coat of EX-P on to make sure its nice and covered then apply moose wax monthly to maintain the trademark wet look of the moose twins. :bounce

for many it's a good base to start off with so that you can use whatever glaze or wax on top to make it look even better without worrying about having to redo it for protection.....even after the carnauba and glaze have evaporated and are gone.....the car is still protected by the sealant....and IMO......the sealants are getting so good now days.....you don't really NEED a glaze or wax on top anyways.....
