Why Dry?

There have been a lot of posts lately about how to dry your car, the best way to dry your car, but I'm wondering how many DON'T dry their cars. I mean, is everyone drying their cars after they wash them? Now with the new Mr. Clean system, will many of you be bypassing this step? Sometimes I use eagle one's wax-as-you-dry after I wash so sometimes I dry the car, but sometimes I don't. I'd be interested to hear if you all always dry.

you should always dry your car, especially if the water is unfiltered. if you dont dry, the contaminents in the water could cause etching in your paint.

Because if you don't dry then you get waterspots. Even with the Mr. Clean thing most of us will still be breaking out the leaf blowers to get the water out of the trunk. That product is marketed to people other than Autopian's anyway. I don't expect that many people who truely care about the products and process of creating the perfect finish would use the Mr. Clean system anyway. I like the filtered rinse water part, but that is about it.



I'll always dry my car like you should. The Mr. Clean system doesn't do anything for the water that collects in the seams or inside the door jambs or in the trunk areas. Its also says it puts down some sort of wax. That's not cool because I don't know how it is going to react with my sealant. I don't like putting unknown substances on my car. If you have a waxed surface then the water beads up and slides off anyway. There isn't anything the Mr. Clean system can add to that other than providing you with filtered rinse water. Keeping your car waxed (with real wax) is the way to go.
