Whoa...Question about QD...

So I did my third detail yesterday, a BMW 323i, sexy black....everything was awesome, took the swirl marks, all the hard water spots were gone from paint and windows...everything was dressed, interior was spotless and steamcleaned....beautiful! I was so happy, as I was making my trip around it to check for any missed wax, or dressing...I noticed a hand print on the hood...So i grabbed my Quik Detail and shot the hood and wiped it off....AH! It was smeary as can be, it looked HORRIBLE. I turned the bottle over and re-read the instructions, spray on, wipe off, dry...okay, so I did it again...EVEN WORSE! I ended up having to redo the entire hood:sosad , which really pissed me off, but the car ended up gorgeous and the lady almost started crying she was so happy. So tell me, what is up with the streaks from QD? Did i do soemthing wrong? What happened?

Thanks

Scottyh

What kind of QD did you use. Were you in the sun or shade? What other proiducts had you used on the car before using the QD?

...and who put the hand print on the hood? :)

Use meg's QD, on the meg's carnuba wax....shade...

It was either me or my girlfriend... That's the best part about detailing, my girlfriend works with me :D

Thanks

Scotty

I've had good results with the burgundy bottle QD. It's been a while since I used it, but I can assure you that the #51 (secretly 51) Meg's is great on a hot car. My car has been hot to the touch, probably around 115 degrees, and in the sun, and it worked fine. It actually steamed when it hit too.

I like it just marginally better than Z6. Well, if I could get a gallon of Z6 for $15 I think I'd like it a whole lot more than Final Detail.

Yep, FD on a bit too hot surface still works ok, steamed on me once  but buffed offf ok :up
