White...Wet!?

Wow, let me say this was one sweet car if you know anything about W-body GM cars. Intercooled, cammed, pullied, pretty much everything you can do to a w-body 3800.

Anyways, the original owner sold the car to his cousin, but his cousin ended up not being able to afford the payments on the car. He gave the car back to the original owner after washing the car during winter with a brush. Let me say the original owner wasn't too pleased.

Soooo...I set to work trying to get some of the scratches from the brush out of the hood with some Automagic Synthetic Cut, no dice. Hyper Compound...no dice. Finally pulled out the big gun SSR 3. NOTHING! Ah, by this time I was getting nervous, so I decided to wetsand the hood with 2000 grit. Took most of them out, but I wasn't going to compromise the clear just for a couple scratches.

So, process:

Wash

Clay

AIO (weird rust colours spots on the car)

Wetsand hood and trunk lid

SSR 3 via cutting pad + rotary mixed with Hyper Compound (nice combo)

Hyper Compound via rotary and polishing pad

SSR 1 via Dewalt DA

NXT

Awsome Gloss

Before:

Notice how they are more like scratches than swirls:

With an intercooler cam and pully, i woul'd be supprised if he was running 12's.

When you say "washed it with a brush" do you mean "washed it with a steel barbeque brush?"

thats a really great improvement! washing with a brush, you really have to wonder what people are thinking!!

I have to laugh at the license plate though.....

When you're running mid to high 12's, you can have a license plate like that.

Now the owner just needs to get it tuned and it should be nice. It doesn't idle too pretty right now.

chompies: White balance kicked my butt.

Amazing looking car and great detail! Do you know anything about the rims..what brand they are..I have been looking for some for my car and those look perfect...Great job Steve! :bounce

They are armano brand wheels, 22" in size.

eh. certainly fast, but not fast enough for that plate.

I was thinking the same thing, a few years ago 12's was great but now a days your just keeping up. I have lots of "keeping up" to do :(

Wow, great work as usual :xyxthumbs

About the plate, I had seen a Evo 8 plate saying "V8 HAHA" and then other one I seen in Long Island...It says "IDRINKV8". Feel sorry for those v8 banger.
