White polishing pad that comes with PC 7346sp, completely useless?

Bought a Porter Cable 7346 from Lowe's yesterday. It came with a white foam polishing pad, and I'm wondering if this thing is any good. It doesn't look or feel particularly cheap or abrasive. I want to do some light polishing on my '07 Mazda, get rid of some light swirl and water spotting. I'm on a tight budget and won't be able to buy more pads for a bit.

So can I use this? Is it useless? Is it going to hurt the finish? I'm going to be using it with Meg's ultimate compound or Presta ultra cutting creme light.

Throw it in the trash immediately. It is garbage.

If you don't have the money to go and buy pads, use the included pad!!! It is good for light polishing, and even applying your wax. I wouldn't use it with compound though... it probably wouldn't cut too well!

I tossed the OEM white pad and wished I had it later. Perfect throwaway for polishing metal or doing something rough like bunged rocker panels. Stash it and one day it'll be the perfect tool for some crappy, pad-ruining job.

Made the mistake of using the included pad and it marred the crap out of the hood I used it on.

Call me a hoarder but I've still got mine. I figure one day I'll get some awful wax or something that sets up like cement and I'll wrap the old MF bonnet over the PC pad and buff away.

I used mine for polishing a stainless steel sink, worked wonderfully. Keep it away from automotive paint as Scott said. It is NOT suitable for that in any way shape or form.
