Hey I am currently looking to try out a new sealent, b/c I have gotten tired of NXT and want to try something new. This is where you guys come in. I want to know which of these sealents you would choose? I know it would be great to buy all of them but I have spent way too much on detailing products lately and my bank account is a little angry:mad:

Thanks for your help!! The vehicle which the new sealent will be used on is a NBP (Black) acura.

a black acura w/ proper prep will look killer w something like AIO/EXP or AIO/WG ive tried SG and didnt like it too much cause it can be difficult at times to use even w/ the wowo method. blackfire i heard smears too much and i had upp and didnt like it al all.

Also not sure how much it matters but i will be using PB's SSR 2.5 and SSR 1 to prep the surface.

I voted for EX-P, but since your car is black you may want to try EX, or top the EX-P with a nice carnauba.

Hey Elliot,

Would you mind elaborating on exactly why you would choose EX over EX-P?

Also whatever sealent I choose I was thinking about topping it with either s100, #16 or #26. I have also yet to make a decision on which carnuba to get:o :D

BF is awesome on black, IMO the wettest available, but thats me. It can be tricky to use, and only smears if your not familiar with it. So for a first time job, you may become a little agitated?

I dont care for EX's durability, and havent used EX-P.

Fourstar would be a great choice. Easy to use, great results......

SG, not in my lifetime.....

Well, I didn't exactly say that I'd prefer EX over EX-P, just that you may want to try it. I personally like EX-P even on dark cars because I find it very reflective and I usually top it anyway. But some prefer EX on a dark color because they feel it looks deeper because of the carnauba content.

Just offering up a different option, but since you are going to top it I personally would go with EX-P. HTH

In this very limited sealant poll I'd defintely go with the only one I'd consider top shelf quality for durabilty, and it would also have to be in concert with it's cleaner, SG and AIO. SG can be tempromental but when finished always impresses me. I agree with Dano too Zaino is a good choice and Wolfgang is honorable mention, especially on black!

Another vote for Blackfire. But keep in mind I've only used SG and Blackfire from your list. BF looks great and is quite durable. It beads like crazy and for me it really resists crud sticking to the car. It also looks quite nice with #16 on it. :)

the new zaino z2 is great - only need one coat and its alot more forgiving application wise than the old z2 ie its almost idiot proof as long as your prep work is good. you cant screw it up unless you just glop the stuff on. its appears to have must tighter beading and better durability then the old if thats possible!!!

UPP here. Very easy to use and slickest stuff I have used. Used AIO as a base. Love AIO but found SG was more trouble than it's worth. AIO + UPP x 2 is :up

Yeah I purposely left Zaino out of the list.

And a vote for SG would obviously be prepped first with AIO

After using AIO topped by #16, and #16 alone after 1z polishes, I am very happy! Been raining then sunny every day and everyone keeps asking me why I keep washing my car when its just going to rain again! Seems to be completely cleaned by rain. Really digging the #16! One month and durability is incredible. It also seems to somehow not get waterspots? Glad I listened to all the posts on it, great stuff, locally available. Just put it on very very thin or it doesnt come off!!! SG seems to be all shine and no depth on my black cars?

Why and Why?

I'm not 03TLS, but I suspect the reason for your first "why" is that he isn't considering buying that product. I get the feeling he has narrowed his search down to these 4 products, and thus is interested in opinions about these 4 products and how they compare to each other.

I don't want to speak for him, that's just my understanding of it.
