Which Towels To Dry With Using ONR?

I've always used WW, but are you all using something else? Just wondering if there is something else I should be using?

Thanks!

I know a lot will disagree with me but I've been using terry towels. Very absorbent and I've not seen any more marring than MF towels.

Either way, WW are not the best way to go. Plush is the best.

For ONR washing I use 360gm microfibertech.com towels or the monster towels from chemical guys. ONR washing really does not produce that much water so a few 16x24 microfibers is plenty. I do use oversize waffle weaves for normal washing with a hose.

530 gram 16 x 16 MF towels I get from my local Optimum distributor. Have to cut the hems off though, they will mar.

one advantage of ww's is that they don't lint at all, at least the better ones, compared to terry/cotton/most mf towels.

Setting myself up for criticism here, but I've always had good luck with the Absorber that you can get at your local Auto Zone, Wal-Mart ... I keep them washed and rinse them often while they are in use and I've not had any scratch problem.

I like using a WW towel for drying and bought the combo Guzzler from autogeek. Though my older set of towels seems to be fading in their ability to absorb water compared to the new set I just bought. Frankly, I don't see a difference between those and the WW towels for glass and yet I have both. The drying towels are green and the glass towels are blue. Feel about the same weight but I could be wrong.

I really like the deep-pile towels for my ONR-ing :) Seems to be just what the doctor ordered:

Extrabolts...which color from the said website are you using? A link would be great!

Yellow from microfibertech.com, and the blue ones from chemicalguys.com

16"x24" Plush Terry 360gsm Microfiber Towel - Yellow (pack of 10)

I've got some 530gm ones too. They work fine, but the extra plushness makes them a bit less versatile as they don't work too well for wax removal.

To the poster who said their guzzlers are losing absorbancy - I use those for regular hose washing. Boil some water and drop the towels in for a few minutes, then wash after spraying down with an APC. That should restore the absorbancy.

And dispite all the different towels I have tried, the VROOM large drying towel from Target in the car section is still at the top of my list. It is just a too big though for ONR washing IMO.

i like the 530gm ones when doing onr and qd. i also like the 360gm better for wax/polish removal.

Same here. 530 grams for washing, 360 gram for wax/polish/QD, 250 gram for interiors. Probably have over 400 mf towels now so I can really specialize them for the job. I do have a couple Monster Fluffy MF towels for washing jet black BMWs.

Ok. 400? That would make for a gorgeous pic bro!

I use Eurow's Microfiber Shag Weave Towel. I haven't noticed any marring on my brand-new paint and have only used them to dry, Scott-style: Two drying passes with two separate towels.

I tend to go through three per car. The final pass towel becomes too wet to satisfactorily finish off the remaining moisture, so I swap out for a clean one at about the halfway point.
