Detailed the Intrepid and its looking pretty good and now its ready for a topper. Here's whats on it now--

Polished with Menzerna Final Polish

Meguiars #7

2 coats AIO

2 coats SG

2 coats UPP

now, here's what I have to work with as far as a topper:

Collinite 845 Insulator wax

Collinite Marque

Zymol- Titanium

S100

Blitz

Vanilla Moose

Top of the Line

Pinnacle Paste Glaz

Glanz Wax

Really wish I had NXT in professional grade but until then one of these will have to do. Any recommendations- I'm looking of maximum shine and durability since winter is approaching and waxing is going to be harder.

Thanks

That's quite a list of topper options so I guess one more won't hurt ~

I've been using ‘Sonus High Gloss Acrylic Spritz’as a QD and in between coats of resin and ‘Liquid Glass Wash Concentrate’ as both these products contain water-based acrylic resins similar to Klasse

Actually for a QD, I'm using the Final Detail from Meguiars but I have been noticing that a lot of the Klasse users swear by it so I may have to give that a try also.

Thanks

SuperBuick- I'm also leaning toward the Collinites at this point also. I pretty much may go with the Marque on the the hood, roof and trunk with the 845 Insulator on the sides..

On the FD .. I have been using it and think its great but.. and here is the but .. it doesn't seem to like cold weather. Once below 50 F it doesn't want to dry and buff off well. Even once buffed there is swirling in its own haze which will lift with a quick wipe once the sun sits on it and warms it.

Jesstzn-- thanks for the information concerning the FD, it hasn't gotten cold enough for that happen but its certainly nice to know ahead of time.

Much appreciation.

Thanks

I think I would vote for Collinite Insulater here too. I just did a collinite topper on 2 layers of Platinum, and man did that thing glow. Just go easy on it during application, it seems to be an ez product to use to much of!

Actually Dale-- for grins and giggles I did apply the Insulator to the trunk before coming in to work and it did look pretty nice on the silver paint (very reflective) but I was wondering if something else would look even better (hence the reason for this post). I do like how easy it is to use and hopefully one of them will stand up to the weather.

I agree with you concerning the application-- I almost wound up putting too much on but was able to spread it out for a more even application.

Thanks for the suggestion..

I think the Collinite Marque will add a little more sparkle than the insulator - a good choice for protection/shine on the hood/trunk/roof. If you want a little more sparkle, use the Zymol - but beware that It doesn't have near the durability of the collinite (although I might add that for me, zymol has not been as "undurable" as others seem to experience).

Here's a newbie question....

Doesn't the AIO remove the Menzerna and Meg's #7 polish? I thought it acted as a cleaner and polish for the SG?

I have a dark blue truck and while my PC7424, Meg's #9 and #7 doesn't seem to actually remove the spider webbing and minor scratches, it sure does a good job of hiding them. I was thinking of trying AIO for the winter but I didn't think I could use a different polish before it and was afraid that without it it would accent the imperfections in the paint.

Menzerna has no fillers ..its a polish only so there is nothing to remove. It is used to remove the swirls not fill them.
