My parents are purchasing a pt w/ the crome package I wanted to get them either clearkote metal polish or adams metal polish #2? Any ideas?

Also my brother lives in a apt. in pitt. and has to detail his car in his driveway. I wanted to get him clearkote moose wax, or adams revive and bw. Any comments?

Thanks

I bought my brother the Poorboy's PwC to use as a cleaner/wax one step. I also got him some other car cleaning stuff as well. One good thing you might could get for both of them is the Adam's Detail Spray. Your brother could really benefit from it, having to keep his car clean in an apartment driveway. :)

For an apartment dweller, S+W would be really nice to get. If you decide to go with the ClearKote line, Scott from Specialty Motors carries both the PB and CK lines, so you could save on shipping if you decided to get the S+W too (and really, why wouldn't you? :) ).

As to the PT, is it "true" chrome, or is it clearcoated? If it's clearcoated you won't want to use metal polish on it.

Is there a simple way to tell if it's clear coated?

If you take a metal polish and rub a bit on the rim, you should see black residue on the cloth. If no residue appears, it's clearcoated. You then treat it like the rest of your cars' paint, although you should use a sealant on the wheels, as a wax might not last as long with all the heat from the brake pads.

As far as I know, most, if not all factory rims are clearcoated now.

Poorboys S&W, because it's something you'll use during the winter (esp. if you're in a snow/cold area). I'm going to re-stock heavy on that stuff because I can seasily see myself using 1-2 bottles a month as opposed to the summer months when I only used a few ounces.

I'd also get some PB EX-P (great for the car and wheels) to protect against winter elements.

Also, the PB Tire Cleaning stuff looks good.
