Which product to use in chip repair?!?!

I applied several spots of touch up paint on my brother's dark blue celica. After thoroughly reading through the forums and the guide on here I am still left with a confusion on what product to use after sanding.

I currently have DACP and am wondering if I can use that to remove the 1500 grit marks, or do I need to get a 3M RC?

Should I go ahead and just use the DACP and see if that gets it out before going out and buying anything else? I was looking at some 3m products and am guessing I need to go with Perfect-Itâ„¢ II Rubbing Compound 05973.

Then I'll follow up with Scratch-X, #7, seal and wax!

I wet sanded using 2000 grit then took the dull marks out with Diamond Cut and a PC.

DACP didnt seem to have the abrasives to get it out completely.

I would certainly try it tho.

Oh yeah I'm going to be doing this all by hand, I have a cheap $30 orbital buffer but don't think that will do much good.

Click on learn at the top of the Autopia home page and there is an article by David on repairing chips. Just takes some time and patience.

Just be careful tho - chip repair involves wet sanding - and that removes paint hideously fast .... plus you can make scratches you cant get out if you go too coarse with the paper.
