Which product to use for external rubber?

I polished my X3 and I cannot remove the polish from rubbers over windows. I used AG vinyl and rubber care, Armor All viny and rubber protectant and 1Z einszett Rubber Care Stick "Gummi Pflege". When I aplly it it looks great. After I wash the car white colour appears on rubber again.

I've heard that peanut butter is good to remove it. But if it's coming back like that, you might need to use some kind of trim restorer like Black Wow or Black Again, etc.

AIO works pretty well, just buff it on with an old MF or you can do the above recommended and get a diluted APC and soft brush.

Griot's has a productd called "Rubber Prep" that works very well for me. There's often a less expensive way to get stuff that's functionally identical to Griot's products, but I dunno what that'd be in this case.

meguiars gold class trim detailer with a wax applicator pad then follow up with apc to get the dressing off then follow up with dressing for even coverage and protection

Some here may not believe this but here is what I do and how I learned this. When I worked at a hot rod shop doing paint and body work (restorations) on very high end hot rods I had a old guy show me a trick for when compounding and swirl removing a paint job and getting the stuff all over the rubber and trim... Get some black ebony (3M swirl remover or any swirl remover) on a rag and scrub or wipe it onto the spots with the white wax, compound or polish. This will take it off easily and works great. Try it and I'm sure you will be impressed. As for dressing, I use Stoner Trim Shine. Works great for me and gives it a UV protection.

wow, nice info, worth to try....

I think I read it here somewhere, and it actually works. Those pink/red rubber erasers found in the stationery or school supply section of your local grocery works. Just erase the white marks and clean up afterwards. 303 Protectant is what I use for dressing and UV protectant.

You are going to get heaps of suggestions here. Your best bet is to choose whichever one people here reccomend and try them out for yourself. I have not used the other two dressings here that were recommended so I cannot say which is best. Those two might be better than the Trim Shine from Stoner that I use and the only way I will ever find out is if I try them.

What about ClearKote's Vanilla Moose? It's safe on trim and should remove the light residue you're talking about.

I've done that before and it worked OK. Sorta like the AIO approach.

^^^^^ That's one worth giving a shot and if that doesn't work I'd pick up some GR-40:

Trim Cleaner

I'm not sure how well GR-40 works on rubber so you might want to ask TOL or at least try it in a very small spot first.
