I have a friend (Bill)who just bought a 98 F-150 with terrible acid rain etching on the hoodhe (Bill) doesn't trust my recommendations :nono so I figured I would post here and let him (Bill) see for himself (Bill)

I told him (bill) he (Bill) could use any of my supplies and or tools to do the job as he (Bill) wants to try and tackle them for himself (Bill)

sorry Bill for using your name so many times, just ribbing you:nana:

so fellas shoot away and help Bill out

My suggestion is to tell (Bill) to read the Guide To Detailing. It will help him out a lot. :bounce

I mostly used 3200 & 4000 grit to remove acid rain damage for several Ford dealerships under factory warranty. It's special paper from Micro Surface Finishing Products. You won't even need to compound after sanding either.

wet sanding by hand correct? Don't you have to worry about taking too much clear off?
