Which pc pad kit to start with?

Hi guys- since my birthday is coming up the wife decided she would get me a PC! So now the only question is what is a good starter set of pads for the PC? I would like to buy a kit that comes with the backing pad and a couple different pads for different levels of polishing....keeping in mind that I am will be learning how to use the PC and polishes at the same time :)

FYI my new polish arsenal for this year includes:

Menerza Final Polish II

Menerza Intensive Polish

Einzett Paint ... (red?)

Einzett Mettallic (green? I can't keep these two straight.)

and I will be learning to use the PC on a 97 corolla- plenty of swirls and scratches to start with.

I was looking at these two kits on autopia- anyone have any opinions about the kits and the pads?

Also, just curious how most of you clean and care for the pads- DavidB's article talks about cleaning between uses with a brush, others suggest a Sonus wash, others just soap, any other methods or suggestions?

Thanks for all the help!

DAS Sonus Foam Pads

â€Â¢1-Light Cutting Pad (Orange)

â€Â¢1- Polish /light cutting (Green)

â€Â¢2-Polish / Waxing Pad (Blue)

â€Â¢2-Finishing Bonnets

â€Â¢1-5-inch DAS FlexPlate Urethane Backing Plate

â€Â¢Use speed # 4.5-5.5 for machine polishing

This nuber / types of pads should be a good start (you'll be buying more ;) )

The foam pad colour identifications are by Autopia for their DAS Sonus Foam Pads

I agree with jdookie - I've found the sonus DAS pads are great ! (Just my opinion of course)

I also agree with TOGWT - I bought what he suggests some time ago and I've already bought more and I'll be getting more! (I need a couple more of green pads)

(You'll need the Orange pad if you're going to use a buffing bonnet.)

Have fun!

Thanks for all the input!

What pads would you use with Mererna IP and Menerza FP? Does it depend on the condition of the paint, or do you say, always use the orange pad with the more abrasive polish (the IP) and the Green pad with the Finishing Polish?

AudiDriver- are you saying to use the buffing bonnet, you put it over/on top of the orange pad?

Also- do you all use anything special to clean the pads? or just soak in some dawn/soap like a wash mitt?

Thanks again!
