Which orange pads do you guys use with the Kevin Brown M105 flex method?

I have a few older P2 orange pads and I am tearing them up today. With the pressure I am applying if I even get close to a smooth edge, bits of the pad just come flying off.

TIA!

Kevin emailed me his method back in May, and I've been playing with it since then. Here's what works best for me...

I use the orange and white flat LC 6.5" pads with this method.

You can also use the PC, with orange and white 5.5" LC low profile pads, and do really well.

The key take aways I have learned are to prime the pad like he suggests, and plan on swapping to a new pad every 2-3 panels.

EDIT - If you think M105 works well using his method, get some M86 Solo Polish (also non diminishing), and use it the same way. It works well also.

Thanks David! I ordered a gallon of M105 a while back so I have plenty to use. Todd told me about using a gray LC pad for the "final step" that works very well.

I found an older flat LC or some kind of orange pad. It's a 6" flat. Seems to work very nice so far.

So who sells 6" orange flat pads?

I really like the 5.5 inches LC orange flat pads. I'm looking for them but I can't find them in any store

Thats right, sorry about that. Hes got 6.5" too, but that might be too big.

No problem Dan. Issue I am having with the 6.5s...on any curved surface and the pressure needed the edge of the BP is tearing up the pads. You can see an outline of the BP worn into the front of the pad.

The Sonus SFX pads are 6" and flat, have you tried those? Ive got 1 white and 1 yellow. The yellow (cutting) is a little softer than the orange LC, and thicker.

The firmer the better using this method, so I will stick with the orange.

I contacted today with LC and they told me that this pads are discontinued from their line :bawling:

I have a couple new 5.5 LC orange low profile that I will send out if you can't find what you're looking for.

We use any 6.5" *flat* pad that we can get our hands. I can't wait until waffle, ccs, etc pads are out of season--much prefer the flat pads!

I've done some searches and am trying to figure out what exactly the Kevin Brown M105 flex method is?

Does anyone have a good description?
