Which Hydro Tech pad with M205

I am really starting to like the Hydro Tech pads. I use the crimson pads with Werkstatt or PO85RD. I am making another run and liking M205 so I'm wondering if I were to use one of the Hydos with 205, which should I use? I will use 5.5" with a PC.

Have any of you had luck with Hydo/205?

I have used M205 with a tangerine and crimson. What are you looking to do? If you looking for a flawless finish then I was go with a crimson.

I agree with Todd. If you're looking to use it as a follow up to your initial compounding then the tangerine/crimson would work great. If you're going to use it as a 1 stepper then I would go with the cyan.
 
I would think that if you are doing a multi step correction you would want to use the tangerine pad... Depending on the color You would then follow up with PO85RD on a crimson...

This truck went to a local car wash to have AZ pinstripes (bush and tree scratches) removed a year ago. The carwash did a pretty god job as there are no holograms, but not all of the scratches are gone. They may have used a glaze because some of the scratches have resufaced. At the same time, i dont know how aggressive the tech got in other spots so i dont want to polish too aggressively as a whole. The parts you can see stripes on are light and i belive will come out with a finish polish. So Todd, as an answer to you question, this will be a one step process designed to removed light scratches and provide shine before lsp. I could go with PO85RD but i was thinking 205 would be a lighter polish. Am i wrong? Currently i have powerfinish, PO85RD, ult compound, ult polish, M205, and werkstatt prime strong. I have a pile of white contant pressure pads and crimson hydros. I am leaning towards 205/crimson via PC. I am open to your tips. Thanks
 
I'd do two test spots
one with 205/white and if not then PF/white

but you've got Todd himself helping you so this post is really just taking up space...

A test spot is definitely the answer. That tip is not just taking up space.

IME, M205 is more aggressive than 85rd. I think, in some cases, it finishes better (M205 requires a totally different finishing technique). M205 is also a faster polish to use.

I like the idea of a test spot, I would probably compare something like Powerfinish to M205 to 85rd. Depending on the color, all three may provide a good enough finish for your customer, so than it is a matter of tweaking how much cut you need.

Thanks Todd, i've got the formula for PO85RD figured out. I'll give a few combos a shot on a test spot. At the same time im going to read up on 205, thanks for link to your 205 thread.

I could just wip out the rotary/white pad/PO85RD.
 
Would the tangerine and crimson be a better choice with 205 or 83 than Meg's burgundy 2.0 pads? I got 4, and I'm beginning to think I should've gone with more yellow or black pads...or start buying LC pads haha
What product is appropriate for the burgundy?
