Which Hitachi?

Hey everyone, I am looking at the hitachi's online and there are 2 different model numbers



SP18VA

SP18VA(H)



I believe they are the same machines but the (H) model comes with a hook and loop backing plate.



Am i right on this?

I got the (H) one because it as cheaper and it came with the 7in hook and loop BP.

Free shipping and the site says that it is in stock.

It was showing 'in stock' as of late last night and it was talking about delivery date of 05/24 or something like that. Now it doesn't show anything and status of my order says 'Picked - Backorder', whatever that means. They better not be playing games, I would be mighty POff.

i called their san diego branch (i was gonna drive down and pick one up if they had it in-stock) and they didn't have any in-stock, and most likely it would be drop shipped (meaning, it gets sent straight from hitachi, and that's if they even have them in-stock at the moment) if you ordered it... :geez

Hey Al, that sucks man, I was gonna purchase one last week and decided to wait until Saturday. Goes to show that I shouldnt have waited, I would happily have had one by now probably. Oh well, I will call tomorrow and see what happens.



I think Lowes has em for around $250.

I already e-mailed them. We will see. In the meantime I'm just fuming as I hate perception of flakiness. If ordering Web site says 'In stock' and mentions 05/24 when I placed the order I don't want to see wording 'Backordered' and Web site changed just several hours later.

Well, I got an "explanation" that they had two in stock but received three orders and mine was, of course, third, and that they should be getting more in two weeks. I will be calling Hitachi themselves tomorrow to see what's up with stock.
