Meguiars maroon pad or CMA yellow pad?

Meguiars Pads:

Red = Cutting

Yellow = Polishing

Beige = Finishing



CMA:

Yellow = Cutting

White = Polishing

Grey = Finishing



Orange = Somewhere in between a cutting and a polishing pad

ronald_m- It's been ages since I used the Meg's maroon (and I get my yellow cutting pads from TOL; they're PROBABLY the same), but I'd say they're too close to call. It's not like using one or the other will be the determining factor in whether or not you'll need to follow up with a polishing pad. Get whatever's convenient.

As I remember the Maroon has the stronger cutting action, the yellow is for finishing and is softer.

MBZ 500E- I could be mistake, but I think ronald_m wants comparisons between the cutting pads from two different manufacturers, i.e., Meg's cutting pad (maroon) vs. Lake/CMA'a cutting pad (yellow).
