I need to be detailing in the Sun and I recently learned that Optimum Polishes are Sun Compatible just as the SSR Line

I wanted to know do you guys prefer the SSR Line over the Optimum polishes or vice versa?

I've always heard great things about Optimum compound and Optimum Polish but I havent heard any news at all about the SSR line in a long while.

Which brand of these polishes will finish up better?

I'm working on a 98 Black Camry with alot of swirls.

I already have SSR 3, SSR2.5 and i was gonna fisnish it off with PO85RD but now I'm thinking I should go with Optimum Compound,--> Optimum Polish -->and then PO85RD but ONLY if the Swtitch is REALLy worth it.

Please share your advice and thoughts.

I prefer optimum, and if you like the SSRs then buy them in gallons from chemical guys. The SSR line is chemical guys polishes, not their body shop line, their regular line. But if you do like the SSRs a lot and do get them in gallons from CG it is a great value. However, buying them re-labelled from poorboys is not such a good value.

haven't used the ssr line, but i love the optimum polishes. i've gotten excellent results, and they're very user friendly...

optimum is pretty tough to beat. thats what i first started out with and still use them from time to time.

SSR2.5 and 3 seem to cut a touch faster than OC and OHC, respectively but the correction in the end is very similar and the Optimum's polishes leave a nicer finish. No dusting either.

I've used both lines and they both work great and are sun friendly, but the SSR's dust like crazy whereas Optimum doesn't. However, if you already have SSR 2.5 and 3, I wouldn't switch until you finish using them up. There's not enough of a difference to justify it. IMO.

I'd go with plan A and use up what you have. Just get the P085RD and call it a day.

IMHO - I've always had better luck with the SSR's with a PC, faster correction. The optimum polish seems to gum up my pad no matter how little to use and take too long to break down with a DA. OTOH, the long work times of the optimum are nice on rotary use.

Ok now, I'm really thining about going Optimum now. thanx

Anyone know if any online retailer's are having a sale on Optimum Compound and Optimum Polish?

thax,

Ome more Question.

If I go Optimum Compound--> Optimum Polish--> ( PO85RD ?) -->LSP

Do I need PO85RD after Optimum Polish because i heard some say It finishes off like a finishing polish?

And lastly,

I just saw that Excel Detail has a special Optimum Trio Sampler 4oz with Optimum HC, OC, and OP in 4 oz. botlles for 15 bucks.

Do you think its enough to detail a a midsize car (Camry)?
