Which 3M SMR to use? For Dark or Light cars?

Which 3M SMR will be ideal for a car that's a medium shade of blue-green? The car's color is neither dark nor light. Is there a significant difference between the 2 versions of 3M's SMR?:nixweiss

the only difference is in the fillers so i just get whichever one is available locally. i'm not a big supporter of hiding swirls so i usually wash off the filler with dawn before i seal. run a search and you'll find a couple discussions about this same topic.

One difference between the dark and light is the color of the polish. SMR for dark cars is a dark color and SMR for light cars is closer to the normal polish color.

If I had a very dark colored car I would use SMR for dark cars. If my car was not very dark, then I would try Meguiars #9.2.

told me that the light is to be used on all light and medium cars. The Dark is for very dark vehicles, evergreen, midnight blue, black.

The only exception they mentioned was red. Uses it for all shades of red. I use the dark on what I would call a medium one -- blaze red and it really looks great. But it looked even better on a Burgandy car I did just recently.

The dark seems to emphasize liquidity and depth slightly more than the light which emphasizes pure shine.
