Gas was $2.99 a gallon a few days ago in Orange County, CA. Today it's up to $3.21.

Has it gone up that much anywhere else?:grrr

Im not COMPLETELY sure what it is here but its usually pretty low here.

Anyway, my dad was thinking and has come to the conclusion that the whole dilemma with the economy is due to the high gas prices.

Not sure why this is in the Click 'n Brag section, unless I can brag how expensive it was to fill up my truck yesterday: $120 for a full tank!!!

Yes, diesel shot up to $3.49 here in Texas.

Damn, i have to pay $3.47 in central cali...but my car does only take premium and i always use chevron :P, the cheapest would prolly be the local one that is like $2.89 or something, but its probably the dirtiest gas you can get hah!

And i read in an investment article, the real estate market is a major cause of the gas prices, trying to make some money back and adjusted price should be $30-40 a barrel.

BTW $1.06 a litre here, rumor is tomorrow going up to $1.14 thats $4.32 US gallon. Tar sands, refineries and lots of wells around here.

Back when gas was $30.00 a barrel I read that we couldn't economically produce gas from our vast coal reserves until oil reached $60.00 a barrel. It went over $100 a barrel. It's a fact that we have enough coal in this country to last over 200 years. Why aren't we doing this now? If we did this and didn't rely on the Middle East and that insance dictator, Hugo Chavez ,the US would be a better, safer and cheaper place to live. I remember the gas wars of the late 60's when you could get 5 gallons for a dollar. This is the only way we can get the gas prices down and jump start the economy.

About 2.89 here for regular. If I fill up an empty tank on my truck, It'll cost me around $60.

Back when I started driving, gas was so AFFORDABLE that I could literally take a $20 and fill up. Miss those days...

$1.52/litre for 98 octane here in Australia. $75 to fill a Integra. $120 for Dad's Monaro. Mum's X5 was over $140 to fill with its capacity tank.

It was $2.77 for regular over here for a while, I think it went up a little since then though. I've been off from work this past week, so I really don't know the prices. I did notice it was $2.90 for regular at Costco yesterday though. I believe I heard somewhere, that where I live (NJ) has some of, if not the lowest prices in the country for gas.

You can find out about your gas prices here. I did find another station that has gas for $2.89, but I doubt it will be that high much longer.

A combination of risk and environmentalism. The risk is that the Saudis will open the taps if a major competitor builds a coal to oil infrastructure, and they'll drop the price to 45-55 a barrel, bankrupting the people who put billions into the plants.

That, and coal to oil creates more CO2 than oil alone. Not that most people find that to be a problem, but the big firms are playing it safe when it comes to global warming. Wouldnt want a new set of laws to shut down an investment worth more than the state of Rhode Island, for sure.

3.65 for premium at the station across from school, if you take a little trip you can find it for 3.40 or so.

Economics is hard to figure, but we should get out of the Middle East and soon. They don't want us there, anyway! We don't need our troops fighting and dying in foreign lands!! It's time we become oil independent!!! If they drop the price to $45.00 a barrel let them sell it to the Chinese and let them deal with their politics and religion. Let's use what we have here. We don't need anymore fanatics and terrorists trying to kill us.:usa
