Where to buy?

Where do I buy like different pads for my PC....other then ordering them online?
Since you don't list your location, (hint), I can only guess that you will probably not have many detail supply stores near you. A body supply store can get them for you, but it is unlikely they will stock 6" pads. Most only carry pads for rotary use.
Most any Meguiar's retailer can order Meg's pads and have them for you in a day or so. The key word is can. Some will do it, some don't want to bother.
Here again, most parts stores won't have them in stock, but if they are Meguiar's dealer, they should have a catalog and easy access to any Meguiar's product you might want. Mine usually has it the next day.

If your reason for not buying on-line is shipping charges, keep in mind that running around trying to find them isn't going to be free. :)

:beta: Try car shows or events that have vendors at them. You can get some good deals at these places if you know what to look for :bigups

It's unlikely that they will have DA pads in stock, but they should be able to order them for you.

As far as Meguiar's is concerned, yes they can.
The question is, will they?

Also, NAPA stores will sometimes have more Meg's products than some other parts stores.

I have purchased Meg's products from a local parts house through the Meg's catalog and picked the product up at the store in two days or less.

I couldnt get Auto Zone to do it because they said it is not availible for them to order.

But however I think Napa will be able to do it hopefully they told me to call them back within like an hour because he was contacting the paint store who they may be able to get it through.

Are either of these locations convenient to you?

DONALD MOODY, 9807 HOSIER STREET, NEWPORT NEWS, VA 23601

NORFOLK PAINT CO., 1373 INGLELSIDE RD., NORFOLK, VA 23502 (804) 853-4371

They are professional products dealers and might be able to have easier access.
Any autobody supply store would be worth calling.

I really appreciate the help CharlesW.

I talked to Napa and gave them the product number for the pads and supposively I guess they went through some paint store or something.

Well anyways thats besides the fact but they will have the pads in within 2 days!!!

And they will be able to order them for me in the future which is good news.

Thanks again for the help!

Also with the meguiars pads it said like something about like it can be velcro or something or can it just screw into the buffer too???

It says,

"Foam cutting action without leaving marks created by wool pads. Removes moderate surface imperfections. Exclusive foam cell structure improves air flow. Quick change Velcro® backing system."

How does it mount regularly to the buffer and what is this, "Quick change Velcro backing system."

Also my last question...is the meguiars cutting pads just like regular light cutting pads?

Uh, oh. While you can order screw on pads, the Velcro pads are much easier to change.
You may want to order the Velcro backing plate so you can use the Velcro pads. They allow you to change pads in seconds rather than have to use a wrench and unscrew the pad on the machine, then screw on another pad.
The Velcro system is much more convenient, but not a requirement.
You might even want to research the "Edge" system, but I think you would have to buy the Edge stuff on-line.

I have a velcro backing plate, I just didnt see any velcro on the meguiars pads unless you pull that thing off and there is velcro...

Are meguiars pads all velcro I hope!!!

Nope.
If you ordered 6.5" pads, you will probably be fine.
W-8006 would be the part number for a Velcro polishing pad.
W-9006 is the part number for a Velcro finishing pad.

If you feel you need a cutting pad, (I don't), it would be part number W-7006.

These vehicles that im doing coming up have pretty bad swirls/paint imperfections so I think a cutting pad will be fine I hope.

I have plenty of polishing/finishing pads.

And yes I ordered 6.5" cutting pads. The W-7006 ones so I hope they work with velcro :)

You should be good to go.
Just remember, a cutting pad cuts.
