Where to buy PC

I've read all the merits of the PC7424 from this web site. Any recommendations on who has the best price? Is it better to buy the kits or is it better buy the pads separately?
 
Any of the sponsors have pretty good prices on the PC's. Check out Autogeek as they are having a sale right now...but hurry, it's a limited time offer.

I'd be buying one myself, but I'm waiting to save a bit more money. Hopefully they'll be on sale in a few months.

Around $120 is the best price you can expect to find. The best price will likely be from a place that buys products from Porter Cable in bulk. www.coastaltool.com has it for $120 all the time. The tool you are likely going to have to pay around that for no matter where you get it, but as far as pads and polishes go, you have a lot of choices in that regard.
 
Now that I know where to buy the PC, could someone recommend what pads to buy and whether I should buy swirl removers also. I have a 1999 and a 2001 car, both have pretty nice paint on it. The '99 car has metal flakes and the '01 is a solid color. What I hope to achieve with the PC is to remove the light swirl marks in it. The swirl marks could be seen under direct sunlight, but under artificial light, the paint looks excellent. I really appreciate the help.
 
I like Lake Country Pads and Poorboy's SSR Swirl Removers. There are alot of different combinations and the general rule of thumb is to use the least aggressive product/process first and move up to something more aggressive if needed.

I like the 6.6 inch LC pads with a 6 inch backing plate. SSR2.5, SSR2 and SSR1 do everything I need.
 
Lowes is selling the PC 7336SP kit for $110. This includes the same unit and white polish pad as the 7424 plus a 6" sanding pad. It is basically a 7424 plus a 6 sanding pad.

So would you recommend that I use all three SSR?
 
I bought the PC 7424 at CoastalTool, it comes with a 6" counterweight, 6" polshing pad, and 6" hook and loop countour pad for $119 (8.50 shipping to CA) and I bought the Poorboy's Polish and Protect Kit from Autogeek for $79.99.
 
i say order a kit which includes the pc(by the way the New pc HD) with pads and polish, in the long run you save money instead of buying one by one plus if you buy separetly factor in gas, mileage, shipping cost and last but least we all have an uncle and his name is uncle sam...i will tell you i purchase things separetly but if i had to do it all over again i would buy from one spot so if any problems you can handle the problem with them that arised.....

there are many well know,relaible, best price, Sponsor who are willing to help you out just give them a call....

i will say Jason at Autogeek is very helpful but so is all there staff....
i will say try there ssr or xmt...Xmt is there new personal line ....i dont think you can go wrong with either...
 
Dwayne's got a couple of pretty awesome kits. This one is my favorite. I know there are places where you can save a few dollars on the initial price of the PC by itself. When you consider your time, state tax, fuel back and forth to the store and the fact that you have to go elsewhere to get the rest of what you need I can see no reason not to pick this up from DC or one of its sponsors. Here's a simple way to look at it, go to Lowes when your first polishing experience or the results don't turn out the way you would like. They might give you a new PC if that's the problem but what if that isn't the problem. What are they going to tell you. This peace of mind is just insurance in my estimation.
