where to buy DACP

Automotive paint supply stores are a good place to find Meguiar's distributors. Check the phone book for the paint shops and call around. That is the best place to find it. It averages around $20 - $28 bucks a bottle. Its a big bottle though so its kinda worth it. Plus, this is DACP we are talking about. Its the mother of all swirl removers. Great stuff. :xyxthumbs

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. 3M SMR is going to fill most of the swirls instead of removing them. SMR is a 3 on a scale out of 10 when DACP is an 8 on the same scale.

edit: That is my own personal scale, btw. Those numbers aren't from Meguiar's or 3M or anything like that. That would be the scale based on the products that I have used. Most of the advice people will give you is relative to their experience but some of it is hard fact. I just thought I'd seperate the two for this post. :xyxthumbs

Maybe not. It just depends on if the swirls are gone. Some go from the mildest polish and move up and others start from the top and go down. I'm one of the types that tries to use my judgement on what product would be best for the marks I'm working on and start with the appropriate polish. If that doesn't get them all out then I graduate down to finer polishes. It works for me but I guess everybody is different. I would follow up DACP with #9 if I was doing the job. That's just me though. Everybody knows its really the detailer and the procedures that really matter and not so much the products.

If you live in the Dallas area you can get it from a place called English Colour.

Progressive Surface Care also carries it. Gallons are around $28 and quarts around $15.

is #9 necessary after using DACP?
Some people say yes, some people say no. DACP is technically more aggressive than SMR or #9, so there's the chance that it can leave behind marks of its own that require another step. On the other hand, it's been renowned for breaking down to a finer polish and leaving a good finish. I would just see what happens and judge on the spot personally. :)

Agreed. I'd say I need to use Swirl Free about 20-25% of the time following DACP.

I'm planning to remove swirl as soon as I get PC but is this good plan?

use Swirl Free and if it doesn't work, try DACP (more aggressive?)? if it works, I'll apply SEC-(maybe #7)-s100

what do you think?

Terry from CMA (Classic Motoring Accessories) told me they can get any of of the Meguiar's line.

Give him a call at 800-628-7596.

Good Luck! Its great stuff, you will love it!!

I saw Meguiar's DACP at my local NAPA auto parts store today. It was being sold for $18.60 for a 1 quart bottle. Most local auto paint stores that carry Meguiar's can also order it for you for next day delivery if its not in stock.
