Where does einszett fit into the attached thread?

Malachi- I'm not Mike, but I use the 1Z polishes with P UPP on my Audi S8.

As I've been replying on the thread you linked, I thought I'd give you my $0.02.

I generally prefer the 1Z polishes over all others, VERY easy to use and quite effective. The Paint Polish (green can) is a good general purpose polish. The Metallic Polish (red can) is VERY mild; the Ultra Polish is sorta harsh (NOT a criticism! Just follow up with the Paint Polish). IMO, these are the easiest polishes to use, by hand or PC, period. They do leave some oils (and wax, in the case of the Metallic), but the P UPP seems to bond just fine (at least for *ME*).

On the (silver) S8, I did Paint Polish (X2), Metallic Polish, P UPP. VERY shiny, slick and "wet" looking, with good depth, too.

I'm prepared to finally get the 1z polishes, my last questions about them is do they truly remove swirls and light scratches ( aren't the red and green cans lightly abrasive?) or do they just brighten the paint or in some way or another partially fill in whatever they can't remove? If this is the case, must I stay on top of them and reapply, say every 2 months? If they don't truly remove, the advantage appears to be that one is getting a very easy to use product without sacrificing too much clear coat.

Thanks Accumulator. I used the 1Z UPP and was impressed. On my car I use AIO/SG and soon S100. I guess that 1Z parrallels would be the Green Can/Glanz Wax/P UPP. Is that right?

Are you hinting that the Green Can be used for bigger swirls and the Red Can is for minor swirls?

I don't see anybody raving about the Glanz Wax. What is its story?

Uh-oh :o think I misunderstood...the UPP *I* used was *PLATINUM* UPP. Sorry, hope this didn't cause any confusion!

Malachi- Yep, you're on the right track. The green can is for more severe marring, stuff the red can won't get out. The yellow can is for stuff that the GREEN can won't get out. *I* find the Metallic/red stuff to be too mild for MY clearcoated vehicles, but all of mine have HARD clear.

Bill D- Yes, the 1Z polishes (Ultra, Paint, and Metallic) *ARE* abrasive. They DO remove marring, not just cover it up. The Paint Polish has a LOT of oils, so they might do a little hiding, the Metallic also has oils and actually contains WAX, so it does a little MORE hiding. But, to be perectly clear, YES, they both remove marring through mechanical/abrasive action too. The oils/fillers have not caused any bonding problems for *ME* when I've topped with wax and Platinum UPP.

I've also used AIO+SG+carnauba on top of the PP and MP, no bonding problems at all, probably because of the cleaning power of AIO. If you missed any marring (that might've been hidden by the 1Z's fillers/oil) you'll probably see it after you do the AIO. I lke to get away from the car for a little while after using the AIO so I see it with "fresh eyes" in case I missed something (I often do see a swirl or two). It's easy to just go back over that area with more polish and re-AIO it afterwards.
