Where do you mobil guys fill up your water tanks???

I am just curious where you mobil guys fill up your water tanks if you dont own your house and dont pay the water bill. Also how m uch does it cost for a 90 gallon fill up?
 
I have a 110 gallon tank that i fill up in the morning. i can get anywhere from 5-10 cars/trucks out of it. Normally i'll pass by my main location and i'll top off my tank. But if i don't i'll stop at a independent gas station/quicky mart and tell the cashier i'll give you 10 bucks if you let me fill my tank up. 9 out of 10 times they let me.
 
At home with Deionized water, wash the vehicle in blazing sun and watch it dry spotless. Hell of a time saver!!!!!!!!!!!

No wax or detailing spray afterwards, if you want to make big money, DI water makes the difference!!!

Can you take a photo of this system that your using? back in the day i was a lot boy at a big ford dealer ship had about 2500 cars on the property.

The system i filled my tank with was the mack daddy one of its time. And it still left water spots sometimes on dark colored cars.

Anyways i was thinking of buying one of these systems just to have it. How much did yours run you.
 
I usually just fill up at home for detailing jobs and fire hydrants for pressure washing jobs. I have a 250 gallon tank.

You are taking a big risk filling your water tank at a fire hydrant. When firefighters take a hydrant for a fire, the first thing they do is flush the debris out of the hydrant. small stones can be pumped into the system from the intakes at the water source.

In my community, someone has to register with the water department to get pernmission to use a hydrant, and are given a meter that has to be turned in at the end of the work project, They pay by the cubic foot used.

Unauthorized use of a hydrant is a $500 fine for the 1st offense and goes upo from there.
 
We rarely use the hydrant for that reason (a lot of debris in the system)! It allows for fast fill-ups, but we rather get it from a hose at our house which is a LOT slower! Just about the only time we use it is when we do disaster clean-up, such as a hurricane, flood or tornado. When we do use it, I always let the hydrant run for a few minutes before we connect to it. My best friend's dad is the fire chief for our county, so I have learned about all the rules concerning it.
Be very careful with the hydrants too, they are very powerful and can hurt or possibly kill someone if not used with the proper precautions!

$10 FOR 110 GALLONS!?!?!?!? Water here in So Cal (which is semi desert) is about $1.00 per 1000 cubic gallons.

Come by my house next time. I will give you DI water at the same $10 price!! LOL!

:LOLOL Yes 10 dollars. I know it cost only pennies to fill my tank up but, when you run out miles away from your shop. Its alot easier to run into a quicky mart and do that.

Actually, there is no such thing as a cubic gallon. Water is measured for sale either in gallons or cubic feet. I'm not nit-picking just trying to be accurate. :)
