When it comes to Pinnacle I got to

rabbi

The Whaler Loves Detail City
go with SVR(see favorite carwash).Tried Pinnacle BodyWork Shampoo today and was very disappointed. First I did my car. Put about a 1/2 a gallon of water in the bucket(5 gallon) and poured in a 1/2 ounce(per instruction) of BodyWork's. It sudsed up nicely when I hit it hard with the water but they quickly dissipated.I like suds. Next my car has some white spots on them from where I work. The shampoo did not take them off. Although I'm not judging the shampoo on this factor I was disappointed. I've got 3 coats of EX-P and 5 coats of Natty's and I'm not used to rubbing the paint as hard as I had to today. The mitt did not glide over the car as I am accustomed to with the other quality washes that I have used in the past. After finishing my car I dried it off and went to work on my wife's.
Now I followed the instructions to the letter. I first poured in the 1/2 ounce of soap and blasted the bucket. Immediately suds formed. I kept the jet stream going until the suds ran over the sides. My wife's car has 3 coats of EX-P and 3 Sig Series applications. Her car wasn't that dirty and it certainly didn't have the white spots on it. Again the suds quickly descended back into the bucket. Again I had to apply more pressure on the mitt than I'm used to. The slickness just wasn't/isn't there. To keep this from being a completely negative review I did like the smell as it has a coconut scent. Overall it is not close to being a favorite of mine. As good as their wax is or as much as I like their wax this carwash is a step down in performance. I'll only use this when my car/s is/are "dusty" and I have time to use Spray and Gloss(to give it slickness). In mho there are quite a few car shampoos better than this one.

u're process of filling it up and then hitting it with jet water never works for me. suds but then quickly go away. with all soaps. neevr tried pinancle tho..

sorry to hear u didnt like it.

Joy I'm not following you. I never filled the bucket up first I put a 1/2 of gallon of water in a 5 gallon bucket, added the BodyWorks, then topped it off with a blast of water. Poorboy's SuperSlick and Suds erupts when it's hit with water and they last throughout my entire car washing.

IIRC, I have read that hard water plays a part in the sudsing/non-sudsing issue. To me, sudsing isn't really a factor anyway. If the wash solution is slick - good. If it's super sudsy and not slick - I don't use it. Looks can be decieving.

JMO, but I think the instructions for the PBS are pretty poor. It says to use 1/2 ounce of shampoo in a bucket, but it doesn't say what size bucket! I think 1/2 shampoo to 5 gallons of water may be a bit optimistic when you consider other shampoos suggest 1 ounce per gallon. I also belive PBS is a pretty aggressive soap. I've reached a compomise with it... I add a 1/2 of PBS in place of 1 ounce of my other shampoo. It extends the life of the smallish bottle and seems to gives me some extra punch for those vehicles that are really dirty.

Just a follow up. I washed my daughter's car this morning using an ounce of BodyWorks Shampoo. Poured the soap in a 5 gallon bucket. Blasted it with water and it sudsed up very nicely. Although the suds didn't last as long as I would have liked it did do a good job on the car. The lubricity improved greatly from the half ounce I used a couple days ago.My overall opinion on it's performance has changed from being a below average all around carwash to slightly above average. Still not close to my favorites.

I'm not going to try this stuff especially after reading reports of it actually removing Souveran

Adelaide south australia has hard water, not as hard as some but melbourne , 500 miles away has really soft water
Regardless of this, 1Z, four star, DP (old and new) and optimum all thrive in it
Have been adding 2 litres (64 fl oz) of purified water into the shampoo bucket as well
I blast the bucket with water (filled with 1Z perls) from high above to get the suds and when it gets to quarter full I put the hose under the water to get solution
Add a 6 inch line of four star shampoo to the mf wash mitt after being dunked in the bucket and get underway with gentle straight strokes.
On side panels, I dunk then make a fist so that the solution runs down from top of doors to rinse away any dirt still on paint after high pressure rinse
Then dunk again and get back to washing.

Works a treat
I just found the pinnacle to dry the paint out a fair bit and hurts the sealants
Suds don't seem to last long either

You used way too little soap. I know the instructions are poor (seems to be the case with many washes) but the correct ratio according to Mike from AutoGeek is ONE OUNCE for three gallons of water. In your case, you should have used almost two full ounces of soap.

You want to use 1 ounce per 3 gallons of water for best results.

Bill,

You're overreacting, IMO. The Pinnacle wash is a quality wash when the proper ratio is used (I know, impossible to figure out from the instructions). The 1 ounce:3 gallons water ratio gives great lubrication and cleaning ability without being overly harsh to the LSP.

:yeah

Greg, you are absolutely right. I find that using 1 ounce per 3 or so gallons of water provides excellent suds, lubrication and cleaning ability and that it is not harsh on the wax - I've tried it with Signature, Natty's & S100 with no problems to date.

Plus Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo smells awesome! A lot of times I will use Crystal Mist after washing when I have a carnuba LSP too.
