When is the big sale

If you need just product I find the 25% off sales to be best with minimal savings on products. If you need tools, polishers and such then yeah the Black Fridays and those in the week following were best.

Also usually a sale on gift certificates.

Sign up for newsletter on both Autopia and Autogeek home pages, sometimes they`ll do a sale for `members` that is not widely announced. Also beginning around Black Friday they will announce gift certificate sales once or twice (maybe more) during the holiday season. Buy discounted gift certificates and then use them as $$ during other %-off sales during the holiday season, essentially `stacking` your discounts. Another plus is you can use gift certs to pay for anything, including stuff always excluded from sales (equipment)
 
How do you define a "Big Sale"? They run 25% off sales with either free shipping or reduced shipping rates pretty frequently. Over the last couple of years I can only remember seeing a bigger discount a couple of times. Unless you`re stocking up on discount points, watch Autogeek as well. They often have concurrent (but slightly different) or alternate sales between the sites to the point where discounts are not that hard to come by anymore.

I used to wait until the President`s Day sale each spring, but have found similar sales frequently this year. You just have to watch the site or get on the mailing list like Budget mentioned.
