When drying off PC Pads.......

do not spin them at full blast on the PC!!!!! I tell you this because just a minute ago my pad that came with my 7336 from blowes yes blowes not lowes!! the pad tore off the pc like someone took a butchering knife too it!!! I kid you not, please, when drying off the pads with the pc, please start off slow and not at 5000 or 6000 RPM!! hard lesson learned:(

if its the screw on plate, and i assume that it is, did you screw it in all the way? Ive abused my regular pc pad in the past, and its held up like a champ even when washing.

I"m not sure the brand name of the pad, just know it was thick plush white foam pad and it came with my pc when I bought it,,,,,,91

yep, its the pc pad, must be a defect then, bc mine never tore off even at high speeds of drying. Take it back, manufacturer defect.

If you've read some previous posts on this topic, you'll know that it's a BAD idea to let the PC "freewheel" at high speeds because the pad/plate on there will spin at insane speeds and could lead to bad things happening. I bet it ripped because it had uneven amounts of water trapped in it and the centrifugal forces tore it apart....

Don't run the PC at high speeds unless it's "loaded" (has the pad resting on a surface).

Yeah, like 4DSC said. If you're going to "spin-dry" your pad on the PC (which is very effective, IMHO), first be sure the velcro-backed pad is well attached to the hooks on the backing plate. Turn it on low til some of the water spins out. And ONLY THEN ramp-up the speed.

Don't blame the PC or Lowe's for the natural power of centrifugal gravity. :nono

I just hold them at arms length and quickly shake them down. Kind of like throwing a frisbee without letting go. Forces most of the water out and then I let them air dry (takes about an hour).

Yea, the pad that comes with the PC is a piece of arse.

Same thing happened to me when I first bought it. It's not quantum physics, just the pad isn't of good enough quality to widthstand those high forces.

Just be glad it didn't hit anyone... My friend wasn't so lucky. :lol (just check out Entry #4 of my journal)

I was ticked off I lost the pad but yet I have to admit it was funny how it happened:LOLOL I was planning on picking up more pads in the future anyway from TOL or somewhere. TKs guys,,,,,,91:up

A big :bigups to TOL. But next time I order from them, I'll be sure to specify I only want the Lake Country variable-contact pads. The Buff & Shine ones just didn't work for me. But that's just me.
