Wheels & Tires: Do You Use Brushes or Wash Mitt?

Meg's Tire Brush for the tires (which still works great after 3 and a half years of use...)

A long handled brush for the wheel wells...

And a Swissvax wheel brush for the face of the wheels, MF mitt for the rest of the exterior of the wheel, and a Daytona brush (the same as the EZ brush, but more durable IME) for the barrels.

Several brushes and old MF towels to clean. Foam applicator for tire dressing, small piece of paper "shop towel" to apply sealant to wheel covers.

Regards,
GEWB

I use brushes! Used a mitt a few times though while waiting on the brushes to arrive but for some reason prefer using the brushes.

I use the megs tire brush, a bigger soft brush for the rim face, extended sm arnold one for behind the spokes and innner wheel, and then the lug nut brush! :)

I bring a entire plastic storage container of brushes and wheel cleaning tools. I use whatever works, which as of late has been the EZ wheel cleaning/detailing brush. Not the most durable thing but it works great.

I generally use a collection of brushes and for the odd stubborn wheel detail, I have an old(ish) Meguiars Chenille wash mitt that I turn to.

Brushes

Meguiars Versa-angle Tire Brush for tires
Vikan Body Brush for wheel face
Mothers Fender Brush for wheel wells
Daytona Brush for spkes and barrel

The one thing I'd still like to add to the collection is a decent lug nut brush.

All brushes for me!

-Generic stiff-short-bristled brush for tires and wheel wells
-Super-soft green bristled brush for wheel face
-EZ Detail for inside the wheel and brake calipers

I actually found a nice brush at Target that I love to get the majority of the dust/grime off and it also will get way back to inside the rims as well. I finish it off with my oldest wash mitt after I have the car washed. I keep three wash mitts, one for the majority of the paint, one for the lower trim portions and then the oldest for the rims/tires.

The Target brush is actually very similar to the Griot's wheel brushes and I just bought a package of three of those the other day, so I hope they are nice too.

For my wheels which are always well maintained all I really need is a grout sponge and the EZ Detail brush. I have a few other brushes for those nasty wheels.
